How to cook a topside roast

Topside is a lean, tender and delicious roast. Great for a Sunday lunch and make sure you have a bit left over to go with your bubble and squeak on Monday. 

1KG serves 4-5
1.5KG serves 6-8
2KG serves 8-10

Seal the joint in a hot pan for 3-4 mins over a high heat. Transfer to the oven and roast as per instructions below.

Rare: 20 mins 
Medium: 25 mins
Well done: 30 mins

Rest for 20 mins after cooking.


Internal temperature 
Rare (45-50°C)
Medium (60-66°C)
